Our team will use Cervest’s flagship product, <a href="https://cervest.earth/earthscan">EarthScan™</a>, to more accurately assess climate risk exposure down to individual asset-level. EarthScan provides a comprehensive view of asset-level climate risk for the upcoming 80 years, across multiple climate emissions scenarios, and climate hazards, including heat stress, flooding, drought, precipitation and extreme wind. We will use these insights to develop strategic, operational and financial plans for our healthcare clients.
The healthcare industry is at <a href="https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2022/08/it-s-time-for-healthcare-to-accelerate-its-climate-journey/">high risk of climate-driven natural hazards</a> which can have a serious impact on everything from infrastructure durability and supply chain continuity, to staff wellbeing and patient care. Recent extreme weather events like the record-breaking temperatures in July, which raised a <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/news/heat-health-advice-issued-for-all-regions-of-england">level 4 heat health alert</a> in the UK, have shown the significant strain the industry is under. 
The UK Health Security Agency <a href="https://ukhsa.blog.gov.uk/2021/11/09/understanding-the-health-effects-of-climate-change/">is also projecting</a> that the numbers of heat related deaths will triple by 2050, with the hottest summers on record, becoming simply “normal” summers. These increasingly volatile climate-related incidents reiterate how important it is for the healthcare industry to accelerate its climate intelligence journey.
